RREC UK: The first hundred days on the board of the parent club

RREC UK: my first hundred days on the board of the parent club.

It was a moment of great relief. I am also grateful for the support of the European section, especially the Swiss and German members. On Saturday, 31 October 2020, seven of us were elected to the RREC UK Management Committee. Five candidates came from the UK. Two of us came from the continent: Ralph Bünger and myself.

Ralph is a true citizen of the world. He speaks several languages. When travel rules allow, he lives in France and Spain.

Why I stood for the board

In my application, I set out a simple goal. I want to listen to the members. Moreover, I want to make our international club a shared experience for everyone. My background also helps. After decades in international banking, I bring strengths in finance and governance.

On Sunday, the new members met two existing board members. We held a Zoom call to constitute the board. The two others had joined only in April. Therefore, they stayed on to ensure a smooth transition and knowledge transfer. Our first task was clear. We had to define the roles on the board.
